This blog gives you quotes and stories to help cope with life on a day to day ( maybe even moment to moment) basis, so you get across that bridge, enjoy the ride and find out what is on the other side, and then maybe find another bridge and another bridge and another bridge, to cross.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comBlogger14125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818518205007171419.post-78338681331461114552015-05-15T14:26:00.001+10:002015-05-15T14:30:17.540+10:00Always avoid "if only""Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do"<br />

You may want to close your eyes on that horse on the bridge, but then you would miss the fun and the thrill of the ride. You may think of stopping the horse half way because you are scared or seemingly out of control, but you still have to get across eventually. Is going back really an option? You may not even want to start across the bridge because you are not sure you will make it, but hell why not, who knows how great it will be on the other side? For me this is just like life, so “Crossing Bridges on Fast Horses” seems to fit.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">This blog gives you quotes and stories to help cope with life on a day to day ( maybe even moment to moment) basis, so you get across that bridge, enjoy the ride and find out what is on the other side, and then maybe find another bridge and another bridge and another bridge, to cross.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">The quotes and stories are from many sources and take many forms, some inspirational, some funny, some irreverent, most practical and real, but they are there to help get over those bridges</p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818518205007171419.post-36226852819178490532008-07-17T22:04:00.000+10:002008-07-17T22:09:49.941+10:00Look Forward<span style=";font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:100%;" ><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /></span><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;">"All the king's horses and all the king's men can't put the past together again."</span><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;" >Dale Carnegie<br /><br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;" >You can't cross the bridge by looking backwards</span><span style="font-weight: bold;"><br /></span></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818518205007171419.post-50832223896463456942008-07-17T21:49:00.001+10:002008-07-17T22:17:07.915+10:00Not Just you<span class="body"><br /><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="font-family: times new roman;">"The main ingredient of stardom is the rest of the team.</span></span></span><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="font-family: times new roman;">"</span><br /></span><span style="font-weight: bold; font-family: times new roman;font-size:130%;" >John Wooden<br /></span><span style="font-family: times new roman;font-size:130%;" ><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">You need your horse to get across the bridge, you can't do it alone</span></span><span style="font-weight: bold;"><br /></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818518205007171419.post-49028765474176918112008-07-17T21:41:00.001+10:002008-07-17T22:10:49.505+10:00Try New Things<span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;" ><span style="font-size:100%;"><br /><span style="font-family: times new roman;font-size:130%;" >"Never be afraid to try something new. The mule fell into the farmer's well. The farmer heard the mule praying or whatever mules do when they fall into wells. After carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving. Instead, he called his neighbors together, told them what had happened, and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery.<br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;"><br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;">Initially the old mule was hysterical! But as the farmer and his neighbors continued shoveling and the dirt hit his back, a thought struck him. It suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his back, HE WOULD SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP! <br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;"><br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;">This he did, blow after blow. "Shake it off and step up...shake it off and step up...shake it off and step up!" He repeated to encourage himself. No matter how painful the blows, or how distressing the situation seemed, the old mule fought panic and just kept right on SHAKING IT OFF AND STEPPING UP! <br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;"><br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;">It wasn't long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, stepped triumphantly over the wall of that well! What seemed like it would bury him actually helped him . . . all because of the manner in which he handled his adversity. <br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;"><br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;">THAT'S LIFE! If we face our problems and respond to them positively, and refuse to give in to panic, bitterness, or self-pity. <br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;"><br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;">THE ADVERSITIES THAT COME ALONG TO BURY US USUALLY HAVE WITHIN THEM THE VERY REAL POTENTIAL TO BENEFIT US! <br /></span></div><div align="left"><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;"><br /></span></div><span class="size12 Helvetica12" style="font-family:Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;color:#000000;"><br /></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818518205007171419.post-85053232615795662302008-07-17T21:26:00.001+10:002008-07-17T22:17:59.791+10:00Don't Quit<p style="font-family: times new roman;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:130%;">"Never give up, never surrender"<br /><b>Galaxy Quest</b></span> </p> <span style="font-weight: bold;"></span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818518205007171419.post-17898051035398076802008-07-14T20:10:00.001+10:002008-07-17T22:18:54.057+10:00The Only Time that Matters<span style="font-size:130%;"><br /><span style="font-family: times new roman;">"Right here, right now"</span><br /></span><span style="font-weight: bold; font-family: times new roman;font-size:130%;" >Fatboy Slim</span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818518205007171419.post-75204982306330305972008-07-13T18:52:00.001+10:002008-07-17T22:19:22.057+10:00Listen Carefully<p style="font-family: times new roman;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:130%;"><br /></span></p><p style="font-family: times new roman;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:130%;">"Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable<br />And lightness has a call that's hard to hear"<br /><b>Indigo Girls</b></span></p><p style="font-family: times new roman;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:130%;"><b><br /></b></span></p><p style="font-family: times new roman;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:130%;"><i>So if it all seems dark you may have listen even more closely for the lightness, even when it is too dark to see your way you can still hear</i></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818518205007171419.post-80032675944965952152008-07-13T16:37:00.000+10:002008-07-13T18:56:36.837+10:00Persistence<a title="Click for further information about this quotation" href="http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/2771.html"> </a><p class="MsoNormal">"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence.
